2.4 Higher Order Thinking Skills

This lesson plan was made in the effort to leverage the use of digital tools and resources as students attempt create art objects by first observing nature, analyze their observation, and sharing the information gathered with their peers. The lesson plan was made for a 9th grade drawing class.
The activities of the lesson was meant to support higher-order thinking skills as students observe how elements of art are used in nature and create blog post on the information gathered. The observation could be done in the physical environment or from the images gathered from the internet. The blog posts students create would promote communication and collaboration among the students. Students would also support their blog posts with images.
The activities of the lesson plan do not extend to using the art elements to create artworks. Students only create blog posts to share their observations. To further extend multiple ways of learning and assessments, student could be made to use the elements to create some designs.
